Top Positive Christian News Today - Have a Great Weekend!

"For a long time, a tremendous amount of false information existed about how Catholics, especially Pope Pius XII, dealt with the threats of World War II. In Pave the Way Foundation's mission to resolve conflicts, we found a deep rift caused by conflicting information. We embarked upon a major international research project culminating in a book, Pope Pius XII and World War II: The Documented Truth." Yahoo News

Newborn Walt's Journey is Nothing Short of a Miracle

Baby Walt was born November 24 via emergency c-section. Shortly after his birth, he was diagnosed with a rare heart condition and life lifted to Houston’s Medical Center.

December 9th, Walt had surgery to treat patent ductus arteriosus and repair the right atrium, both of which were exacerbated by his heart condition. Since then, we’ve been spared (he’s been spared) any further instance of literal life-threatening scare. The surgery was as great a success as it could be. Better even.

"God has heard our (and your) prayers and answered. His mercy, grace, goodness, and faithfulness are evident every single day. They are forever part of Walt’s story and our family’s," stated Kemberlee Kaye in a recent blog post on her website.

Kimberlee continued by saying, "Thank you for praying for my son and my family, for loving us from afar. The Legal Insurrection family is truly that and I’m so thankful for each of you, staff and readers alike."

Egypt's Muslim president praises bond with Coptic Christians

As Coptic Christians celebrate Christmas on Tuesday, Egyptian President Abdul Fattah el-Sisi commemorated the ties between the Christian minority and Muslims in the Muslim-majority country, saying it has protected them from sectarian strife experienced by its neighbors.

President el-Sisi, who is a practicing Muslim, appeared at the Coptic Christmas Eve Mass on Monday in the nation's largest church, Nativity of the Christ Cathedral. Last year, Coptic Christians celebrated the opening of the cathedral as a "gift" from el-Sisi in the new administrative capital east of Cairo, which he declared as a "message of peace and love to the world."

“I’m here getting ready to deliver my fifth baby,” said Leah Darrow, a former contestant on America’s Next Top Model, from her hospital bed. “And I want to let all you women know, all you young ladies who haven’t had babies or are maybe listening to what the culture says about birth, and women, and babies, and choice. Babies don’t keep us from our dreams,” she declared.

’There’s still good people out here:’ man’s wallet returned with $2,500 after he loses it in Walmart lot

NEW ORLEANS, La. (WVUE) - A Metairie dropped his wallet outside in a Walmart parking lot. He didn’t realize he had dropped it, and he went on to have his automobile washed,” Gerald Fleming, the man’s father, said.

His son returned to Walmart to see if it was still there "and one of the associates inside the store told him that an elderly lady had returned his wallet, with $2,500 in it," Fleming said.

"That's a blessing. Could've easily turned the other way, but God is good, and God has blessed that man to be able to get his money back. So that's a true blessing, and everybody's not like that," Fateshia Fredericks said.

Church Unearthed in Ethiopia Confirms Early History of Christianity in Africa

At an archaeological site in Ethiopia, researchers are uncovering the oldest Christian basilica in sub-Saharan Africa. (Ioana Dumitru)
According to Ethiopian tradition, Christianity first came to the Aksum Empire in the fourth century A.D. when a Greek-speaking missionary named Frumentius converted King Ezana. Butts, however, doubts the historical reliability of this account, and scholars have disagreed over when and how the new religion reached distant Ethiopia.

In the dusty highlands of northern Ethiopia, a team of archaeologists recently uncovered the oldest known Christian church in sub-Saharan Africa, a find that sheds new light on one of the Old World’s most enigmatic kingdoms—and its surprisingly early conversion to Christianity.

“This is what makes the discovery of this basilica so important,” he adds. “It is reliable evidence for a Christian presence slightly northeast of Aksum at a very early date.” This discovery agrees with the tradition that Christianity came to Ethiopia around 300 A.D.

Good Samaritans in NC risk lives to save 6-year-old who fell into frigid lake

Photo by Li Yang on Unsplash
Two carpenters are thankful they were working at a home along Lake Hickory when they heard the 6-year boy's yell for help. Scott Lingerfelt dove into the frigid water with his work clothes on while Jason Southerland scrambled to drive to the home where the child fell in.

"It was cold. I said 'Lord, you gotta help me with it. Give me the strength to get across there.' As I got across, I could see him and started talking with him saying 'bud, you're gonna be okay. We're gonna get to you,'" Lingerfelt said. With their help, the boy's older brother pulled him out of the water.

"God put us there at the right place at the right time," Lingerfelt said. "I was doing something I hope someone would do for my boy."

Music and therapy help woman battling MS live life to the fullest

Photo by Mike Giles on Unsplash
Jocelyn Owens is using music and a breakthrough treatment to help her through her battle with multiple sclerosis. She says the disease is forcing her to live life outside of the box.

Music helps her cope with the disease as she’s forced to remember notes, think critically and process information — all aspects that are affected by MS, in her case. Playing music coupled with a breakthrough treatment called Ocrevus is helping her to live life to the fullest.

“I don’t think God gave me MS, I have MS and then the people that I’ve been blessed with because of this diagnosis are what I get from God. Those are the angels that come into your life,” Owens. said.
